There is another version of this skit provided online.
The boy and girl are scrubbing the floor with rags. Girl wipes the sweat off her face.
There is a knock at the door.
Boy: I’ll get it.
Girl: Don’t bother, it’s probably not for us.
There is another knock at the door.
Boy: Awe. Come on. You never know who it could be.
Girl: Alright. Why not? We might as well see who it is.
Both of the children get up and walk over to the door.
Boy: Who is it?
Mary: Wearing crown. My name is Mary. Kids open the door and to their surprise they find Mary standing there smiling.
Girl: Wow! Are you a queen?
Mary: Yes, my child. I’m so glad you opened the door. I’ve brought you special invitations. One for you, and one for you. She hands them the invitations.
Excitedly they open them up.
Children: Wow, it’s from the King!
Girl: It says: ‘Dear Children, I love you very much. I want you to join me in my Kingdom. Signed, your Mighty King.’
Boy: But, look at us! He couldn’t possibly want us. We have nothing to offer to such a wonderful, great King!
Mary: The King wants the gift of your love. He loves you so much because you are His children; you are a son and daugther of God the Father. He will welcome you as a prince (points to boy) and you, as a princess (points to girl), because that is who you are. She places a crown on the boy and one on the girl.
Girl: Oh, my! But, how will we get to the King? We don’t know the way.
Mary: Jesus is the Way. Come with me, my children, on this exciting journey and I will lead you to Him. She takes their hands and they all walk off together.
The End.
