You’ll Need:

  • Alphabet cereal(1 handful/child)

Activity:

  1. Give each child a handful of alphabet cereal.
  2. See how many words they can spell.
  3. Give a prize for the longest word.
  4. When they finish, they can eat their cereal.

 

 

Cool Conversation Questions

 

The Cool Conversation Questions: 

What is your favorite gift you ever received? 

What is the best gift you ever gave someone?

What is your favorite part of the Mass?

 

Activity:

  1. Have the children gather together in a circle.
  2. Ask the children the Cool Conversation Questions.
  3. Let them each take their turns to share.

 

 

Noodle n’ Straw Challenge

 

You’ll Need:

  • Straws (1/child)
  • Dry rigatoni noodles (6-10/child)
  • Small plastic cups (1/child)

Activity:

  1. Give each child a straw and noodles.
  2. Have them try to pick up the noodles and drop them into a cup using the straw in their mouth.

What a Funny Idea…

 

You’ll need:

  • Various items (plastic plate, toothbrush, blanket, spoon, etc.)

Activity:

  1. Hold out a familiar item. Invite the children to take turns to think of a new way to use this familiar item. You can pass the item around and make the children act out their ideas. (Ex: Imagine using a toothbrush as a backscratcher, a paintbrush, a cooking utensil, a microphone, etc. What about using a blanket as a pillow, a flag, a tent, a shawl, a skirt, etc.)
  2. Try to encourage the kids to find at least 7-10 funny/creative ways to use this item. 
  3. Introduce a new item when you sense everyone has used up their funny ideas.
