Helpful Hints
- Read through each of the leader guides so that you have a good understanding of the daily lesson plans and activities at each station. This will also help you determine who to consider asking to be your main station leaders.
- Make any necessary changes to the program in order to best suit your VBS needs.
- Request that all kids be dropped off on time every day so the program can begin on schedule.
- If the craft leader does not choose to use the Radical Ride Travel Bag craft idea, then you may ask parents to send a backpack and waterbottle with their child. Be sure to specify this in your letter to parents. The children will need a bag to keep all their belongings together. (ie. waterbottle, VBS passport, crafts, take home items, etc.)
- Give the children and station leaders a 5 minute signal before the station changer so they can begin to prepare or finish up what they are working on.
- On Friday, you may consider shortening the stations if you choose to end the day with Mass and/or the Radical Ride Party.
- (Opt.) Give Radical Ride Tickets as a reward for great behavior, winning a game, for answering questions, participating in activities, cleaning up, etc. You could let the children redeem their Radical Ride Tickets for cool prizes on the last day of VBS. Children can stick or glue them inside their VBS passport.
- At the end of each day, hand out (or email) the Take Home Sheets. Download the files and make any necessary text changes. This is a great way for parents to connect with their children’s experience of your Radical Ride VBS.
