The past couple of weeks have brought a lot of changes in our day to day life. Self-isolation and social distancing has probably made for a lot more time with your spouse and family. However, not being able to go out can make it hard to plan a romantic night as a couple. Here are a few date ideas to help you create some fun memories with your spouse in your own home.
1. Campfire in the backyard
Have a marshmallow or hotdog roast, take out your old guitar, or just sit and watch the flames dance.
2. Read out loud to each other
It could be poetry, scripture, a classic novel, a personal development book, or short stories. We recommend ordering a copy of Love Does or Everybody Always by Bob Goff.
3. Have a Tasting Party for Two
Wine, craft beer, chocolate, or cheese... take your pick! Buy a few different varieties and see what you both like best.
4. Make a puzzle together
A popular homebound activity that doesn't just need to be for the kids.
5. Ask each other questions
You can find a lot of different "Questions for Couples" lists online. Or you can use this list.
6. Cook a new recipe
Homemade pasta? Cheesecake? Caramel popcorn? Fine a recipe online and make it together.
7. Eat takeout by candlelight
Find a favorite local restaurant that delivers and have a romantic dinner right in your living room.
8. Board games or card games
Crib anyone?
9. Look through pictures of your dating days
Whether you have them in a photo album or on your computer, look through past memories and experiences you’ve shared.
10. Redecorate your bedroom
Spend the evening shifting furniture around and hang a different picture on the wall. Make your space feel new again.
11. Paint night
Pick up a couple canvases at the dollar store or order them online. Pull up a classic Bob Ross video and all you have to do is follow the instructions.
12. Online dance lessons
Take this opportunity to sharpen your dancing skills. You can find everything you need on Youtube: Salsa, two-step, waltz, etc. Whatever you’re in the mood for!
13. Go bike riding
Just because you’re self-isolated, doesn’t mean you can’t go out and enjoy the fresh air!
14. Workout together
Get sweaty and have fun!
15. Plant a garden
With the arrival of spring comes the perfect time to plant a garden, flower bulbs or even a couple trees. Help bring something to life in your own backyard.
