Advent is a beautiful time of anticipation and preparation. It's a great opportunity for families to be more intentional about spending time together. We encourage you to set aside one evening a week to do something that involves your whole family. We've included three fun activities you can do during these weeks before Christmas.
1. Make a Card for Your Parish Priest
Parish priests work very hard during the Advent season to help prepare us for the coming of Christ. Christmas is a very busy time for them, and we want our priests to know how grateful we are. They are a gift to us and to the church, and giving them a thank you card is a great way to show them how much we appreciate their work and their vocation. You can bring it to them when you go to Mass or to Confession.

3. Joyful Mystery Cards
The rosary is a special prayer we pray to Mary, the Mother of Jesus. There are different reflections we can pray on different days, and we call these Mysteries of the Rosary. They help us focus on different parts of Jesus’ life on earth. There are four different mysteries of the rosary: Joyful, Sorrowful, Luminous, and Glorious.
The Joyful Mysteries tell us about Jesus' early life, including his birth. It's a wonderful meditation during the season of Advent. You can keep these cards with you in your vehicle or at home to help you learn to pray the Joyful Mysteries.
